1. Consume at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.Fruits and vegetables are essential for our bodies needs. They are loaded with wholesome fibers, vitamins and antioxidants which will help our body with the nutritional needs to keep it energized during the fat burning process.
2. Keep in mind the Portion SizeAlways remember the serving size amount per portion in the foods that you are eating. One best example is the pasta; one serving of pasta is only ? cup of cooked pasta. But, common in most restaurants the serving size of pasta is over the desired serving amount. Once you know you have consumed the proper serving amount, don?t force yourself to eat all of it, instead take home the left over.
3. Never Skip mealsInstead of skipping the 3 big meals of the day, try to eat 5 ? 6 smaller meals for the whole day. Eating small meals in a day helps your calorie intake and also keeps your blood sugar levels normal.
4. Try to purchase fresh foodsIf possible, purchasing fresh foods is the best. The packaged or processed foods are usually higher in sodium and fat content and they?re often bought in fast foods. A lot of people we interviewed are shocked that they can easily lose weight by eating on homemade foods instead of buying or eating out.
5. Don?t let yourself crave for somethingAll of us have his/her own favorite foods. If you want to eat your favorite food but you think that it can affect your diet, simply allow yourself a little of it but not much. It is found out that the more you restrict yourself from something, the more you crave for it. Also, eating your favorite food a little can be a good way of rewarding yourself to your weight loss experience.
6. Learn to understand Food labels and claimsA lot of products on the market haves its own labels and claims mostly to those foods that are used in having a good diet. For example, a product labeled with fat-free does not really mean that it does not contain any fat and low in calorie. Also, the product labeled as low-sugar does not mean low in fat or calorie. The best thing is, you must know and understand the nutrition labels of the food.
7. Watch for drinks that are high in sugarPlease be reminded that foods are not the only source of sugar. Drinks also have high in sugar like juices, cream and sugar and even soda. Make it a habit to drink 8 glasses of water per day to reduce the summed up sugar out of the drinks that you have drunk.
8. Keep records for foodKeeping records of your food intake can help you point your eating pattern for a week or even a month by easily looking at your foods? list and modifying it.
9. Lastly, exerciseIt is recommended to have 30-60 minutes of physical activities per day to stay fit and healthy. It is also possible and effective to add weight-bearing exercise at least 2 times a week. It can help to burn the calories in your body.
